Elipses
Mathland was full of surprises today. Not really but here is some stttuuffff we learned in class. We learned about ellipses today. They are similar to parabolas. But ellipses are defined as a set of all points. They are again two equations to find the major horizontal axis, and the major vertical axis. With these equations you are trying to find the center, foci, and vertex. The center is (h,k) the major is 2a and the minor is 2b. We also learn to solve for the eccentricity which has the equation of e=c\a. Once again almost every problem will involve completing the square to get the x's on one side. And the y's on the other. See examples below from problems and equations to solve ellipses.
